About Us
I have a wealth of years behind me with labradors, first starting as a child when as a family we puppy walked guide dogs. This started my love and passion for this beautiful breed which is deeply embedded into my life.
I love to train and work my dogs throughout the year and work my team throughout the shooting season either picking up or beating.
Our dogs all live in our home as family first and foremost with life centred on giving them all a lovely quality of life. I have many generations of my own breeding from great granny to granddaughters.
Ethos & Values
We breed Kennel Club registered Labrador Retrievers, all fully health tested above and beyond the Kennel club breed requirements.
Our dogs range from deep mahogany red/yellow and black in colour. Breeding involves so much more than matching 2 dogs. Health and temperament are of extreme importance.
All of my dogs are hip scored, elbow tested and must have as low and even scores as possible. Eyes are tested with a specialist eye clinic and given certificates annually.
Each dog is DNA tested for a minimum of the 7 main diseases which include PRA/PRCD, CNM, EIC, SD2, HPNK, STGD, MCD.
Our dogs are all extremely sociable, kind and loving, which is of great importance when considering raising a litter of puppies. Selection of the right stud dog is equally important, not just in health but in his temperament.
We have puppies in homes ranging from family homes, assistance homes, working gun dog homes and detection trained homes. Each puppy has structured socialisation from birth using Puppy Culture. Introduction of early neurological stimulation (ENS) through early handling and early Scent Introduction (ESI) where a natural scent is introduced each day. Sounds are played to introduce the sounds a puppy will encounter throughout their lives as adults. (Traffic, children, farm animals, fireworks, gunshot, household sounds, alarms, electrical equipment, hoovers, washing machine etc. I closely work with each puppy to carefully introduce each sound, scent, textures, levels to give them as broad an experience of social interaction as possible. Each puppy is temperament tested using the Volhard Temperament testing at 6 weeks old so that I can best advise which puppy would suit each family. This report is included in my puppy pack each new owner takes home. During the time puppies are with us, we provide all new owners with lots of photos/videos. A WhatsApp group is started from soon after birth and all new owners added to the group, which will run for the life of your dog offering support and advice or just to chat to the other owners and enjoy photos and videos as they grow. During the 8 weeks there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions in preparation of puppy joining the family. Each puppy will be fully vetted before leaving and will have a vetting certificate. First vaccination (Canigen L4) will be given just before 8 weeks old, unless asked not to. Each puppy will be microchipped and transfer of ownership completed before puppy leaves. KC registration and 5 weeks kennel club insurance, a quality puppy pack giving masses of information from puppy to adult. Copies of parents health testing and DNA results, a contract of sale, a colour 5 generation pedigree certificate, a copy of Volhard temperament test, microchip certificate, Insurance, vaccination card. Diet, feeding routines and daily routines, worming dates. Each puppy leaves with a toy box of goodies, blanket from home, a new bed and supply of puppy food. (Essentials The Beginning)
